How do
I search it?
EBSCOhost is case insensitive. it doesn't matter if you use upper or
lower case letters.
1. Keyword Search (Default Screen)
a. Basic Search
In the Find box, type the keywords or subjects you are searching for,
combining words or terms with and, or, or not to expand or limit your
search.
Sample Search:
Type cigarettes and nicotine.
Note: To facilitate finding articles,
you may want to limit your results to those articles that have the
full text available. To do this, click in the box in front of Full
Text.
Click on the Search button or press Enter. A list of matching
articles will be displayed.
b. Guided Search
To further refine your search, click on the Guided Search button. This
option makes it easy to combine terms, limit your search to a
particular publication, author, or company and limit your search to a
particular date range.
Sample Search:
Click on the Guided Search button.
In the find box, type cigarettes.
Click in the box below and type nicotine.
In the next section, limit your search to full text articles by
clicking on the box in front of Full Text.
Click in the Magazine box and type Newsweek.
Click on the Search button. A list of matching articles will be
displayed.
2. Search by Publication
Click on the Publication Search button at the top of the screen.
In the Browse box, type a publication title, e.g. Science News.
Click on Browse. A list of matching titles will be displayed.
Click on the box in front of Science News.
Click on Search. A list of articles will be displayed, beginning
with the most current magazine issue.
To limit results to full text articles, click on the Refine Search
button. Click in the box in front of Full Text and click on Search. A
list of articles will be displayed.
How to Display an Article
Full text articles are indicated by a Full Text symbol.
If a Full Text symbol is shown, click on the symbol or on the
article title to display the article.
How to Print an Article
Click on Print button within the EBSCOhost frame.
Choose Citation or Citation with formatted full text.
Click on Print button. The number of pages to be printed will
display.
Click on the Print button.
How to Email an Article
If you have an email account, you may email an article to yourself and
read it or print it on your own computer.
Click on the Email button within the EBSCOhost frame.
Select the option of your choice. Type your email address in the
box.
Click on Email. Your article has been sent.
