Youth Services - Summer Reading 2010

Summer Reading

Registration is June 1st to June 19th
Registration is limited to Worth residents with a Worth Library Card 
or attend school in either Worth School District #127 
or Our Lady of the Ridge School

*Grade level is the grade the child will be entering in the Fall.*

Preschool - 2nd Grade
For every 20 books read, you may choose one prize.
When you reach 20 books, you win a prize and
a party pass to the End-of-Summer Reading Party.

Grades 3 - 5
For every 5 books of 100 pages or more, you may choose one prize.
When you reach 5 books, you win a prize and
a party pass to the End-of-Summer Reading Party.

Grades 6 and Up
Junior High & Teen Reading Program
For every 5 books of 150 pages or more, you may choose one prize.
Write down the name and author of the book & the number of pages. Bring your list to the library to receive your prize. When you reach your Teen Reading Goal of 5 books, turn your list in at the library. Your name will be entered into a special prize drawing to win a gift certificate.

You may check in for only one prize, one time per week

Reading Lists must be turned in by July 31st
No prizes will be given out after July 31st

Monstrous Mondays (June 21st through July 26th)

10:15 am 

Toddler Story Time - Children 2-3 years old with a parent
Read books, sing songs, play games & make a simple craft.
Limited space is available.

 

3:00 pm Bingo - Kids of all ages
(Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult)
Kids of all ages are welcome to enjoy this popular game. 
Help call out your lucky numbers with the chance to win some great prizes.

 

Terrifying Tuesdays (June 22nd  through July 27th)

1:00 pm Story Time - Ages 4 to 6
Read books, sing songs, play games & make a simple craft.
Limited space is available.

 

3:00 pm Mad Scientist Workshop - Kids of all ages
(Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult)
Each week we will perform new activities or make a cool craft.

 

Wild Wednesdays (June 23rd through July 28th)

4:00 pm Game Club  
Card, board, & video games for all ages.

 

7:00 pm Teen Club - 6th grade and up
Games, activities, and prizes for middle through high-school students.

 

Thriller Thursdays  (June 24th through July 29th)
     Limited to Worth Library Card Holders. 
     In-Person Registration Required. 
     Registration for all shows begins one week in advance of the show.
     Seating is limited by law to 52 people. 
     For the Animal Show, children under 3 will not be permitted.

     Individuals who require an accommodation for a disability
