Basic Services

  • Holds  – The library will place holds on materials that the library owns for all  Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) cardholders.
  • Interlibrary Loan – The library will Interlibrary Loan materials owned by other libraries for Worth Public Library cardholders only.
  • Reciprocal Borrowing – Worth Public Library cardholders are able to use their library card at libraries that are members of the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS). Members of any Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) library are able to use their library card at Worth Public Library.
  • Virtual Programs –  During this time we are unable to have programs in the library. But we are happy to be able to offer you virtual programs.

    When Chef Niksic opened the Jewish Deli P’Nosh he made many a loaf with this recipe. Not only is there a traditional version but a cinnamon raisin currant version.

  • Container Garden Secrets *masks required for event

    Whether you live in an apartment, condo, town home, or single family home, you probably have the space for the color and interest of container gardens, one of the hottest trends in gardening. Includes container selection, plant selection, simple design considerations, the proper planting and maintenance to help ensure success. Email to register.

  • Summer Reading Kick-Off Ice Cream Social

    Its time for our Summer Reading Kick Off! Join us in our parking lot on Saturday, June 4th from 2-4pm for ice cream, entertainment, and to sign up for our Summer Reading Program and register for a library card. Just drop by, no registration necessary.

  • Nutrition Essentials for Seniors

    Poor nutrition impacts our physical and mental health and can exacerbate chronic conditions. Joe Smith from Mom’s Meals joins Pathlights to host this interactive conversation on the role of proper nutrition in aging adults. Caregivers and older adults alike are encouraged to attend. Handouts with nutrition tips will be distributed to all participants. Generously sponsored

  • Take and Make: Book Page Rose Wreath

    This month’s kit will give you all the supplies to make your own rustic book page rose wreath from recycled books. Limited quantities given out first come first served at our Circulation Desk. Hot glue gun must be checked out with a library card.

    A reluctant First Lady, Eleanor faced great backlash as she sought to change the world. With ready humor and relentless activism, Eleanor overcame her reluctance to embrace her role as Mrs. Roosevelt. The Worth Reading Bookclub is usually held on the third Tuesday of the month usually at 1:30 pm in the Library Meeting Room.

Please visit the Circulation Desk or the Adult Services Desk at the library to check on availability of passes for the museum of your choice.

Worth Public Library District is now a part of Explore More Illinois! Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders access to discounts at museums, park districts, historical societies, zoos, art centers, recreational facilities, and other attractions.
Patrons can log in with their library card number and PIN.
The library card must be an Adult card in good standing.
